Preliminary task.

For my preliminary task we were to make a school magazine. I choose to call my magazine FUSE. Designing my masthead was quite simple, I choose a font on Microsoft Word, and then editied it on paint. I did the same for my contents page, to make the font the same, and keep the standards of my magazine consistent.

The colours I used were black and red as I felt they were contempary and made the magazine look fresh.

The image I took for the front cover was by some lockers, I felt this gave a school themed background and made the image relevant.

Althopugh i am pleased with the finished result, if I was to do this again, there would be a few things i would improve on. I would take an image using the rule of thirds for my front cover, as I found it hard to position headlines around the model. By including a small picture of a head teacher in the bottom corner, I feel i made it relevant and personal to the school. And by giving a 'meaningful motto' it gave the impression the head cared about what his pupils thought, and giving them a nugget of advice. I think the contents page would need to be more formal, and more symetrically laid out if i was to this again.
